Kalta — Terms of Use
Kalta is a personal money ledger. It is made by Luxxat Labs, IP, a sole proprietor registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan. These terms are the agreement between you and us. We have kept them short and in plain English.
By using Kalta you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
1. What Kalta is, and what it is not
Kalta keeps your accounts, transactions, budgets and reports in one ledger, with one running balance for each account. It works offline. Your ledger is kept on your phone. It is also saved to our servers in the EU, under an anonymous id, from the first time you open Kalta. Signing in links that id, so that another device can use the same ledger.
Kalta is not a bank. It does not move money. It has no bank connection and no payment rails. It records what you type and shows you the numbers. The figures are yours, and checking that they are right is your job, not ours.
Exchange rates in Kalta are for information. They come from public rate providers and can differ from the rate your bank or card gives you.
Nothing in Kalta is financial, tax, accounting, legal or investment advice. Kalta does not tell you what to buy or sell. Any forecast or projection in Kalta is worked out from your own numbers and the assumptions shown next to it. It is not a prediction of any price.
2. Free, with no ads
The ledger is free, and it stays free: accounts, transactions, categories, recurring entries, budgets, the day, week, month and calendar views, reports, export to CSV and Excel, more than one currency, net worth, backup, a passcode, widgets and reminders. There are no ads. You do not need an account to use the ledger. Signing in is only to sync or to share.
One device syncs for free. Syncing on more than one device is part of Sync + Plan.
3. Sync + Plan
Sync + Plan covers syncing on more than one device, the shared wallet, and the Future view. You can buy it in three ways, through the App Store or Google Play:
| Product id | What it is |
|---|---|
kalta_plan_monthly | A subscription. It renews every month until you cancel it. |
kalta_plan_yearly | A subscription. It renews every year until you cancel it. |
kalta_plan_lifetime | A one-time purchase. One payment, no renewal. |
- The price is shown by the App Store or Google Play before you buy. It is not set on this page.
- The two subscriptions renew by themselves until you cancel. To manage or cancel one, open your subscriptions in the store. In the App Store: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. In Google Play: the Play Store app, then your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Deleting the app, or your Kalta account, does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the store.
- Restore. A purchase belongs to your store account. On the same phone, open Settings, then “Restore purchase” in the Your plan section. It reads your store account and needs no sign-in. On a new phone, or after you reinstall Kalta, sign in first with the same Apple or Google login you used when you bought, then tap Restore. If you bought without a login, link one on your old phone before you switch phones.
- Refunds go through Apple or Google, under their rules. This includes the 14-day withdrawal right that EU law gives you. We only check the receipt and unlock the features.
- There is no free trial.
Our pricing promises:
- The ledger is free forever, with no ads.
- Nothing you have paid for is ever moved behind a new paywall.
- Your purchase can be restored on a new phone, as set out under Restore above.
- There are no weekly plans.
- A one-time Lifetime option exists.
4. The shared wallet
You can share an account with other people. The person who makes the share is the owner. The others are editors. The owner needs Sync + Plan to invite people. People who join do not need it. Everyone in a shared wallet signs in with Apple or Google.
You invite people with a link or a six-character code. Anyone who has the code can join, so share it only with people you trust. The owner can reset the code at any time. That stops the old link and code at once, and everyone already in the wallet stays in it.
Members of a shared wallet see every transaction in it, by design. An editor can add, edit and delete transactions. Only the owner can invite or remove people. When someone leaves, or the owner removes them, every transaction they added stays. Your own accounts stay private. The one exception is a transfer from one of your own accounts into a shared wallet: the wallet’s members can see that transfer. What the members can see is set out in the Privacy Policy.
5. The Suggestions board
Settings has a Suggestions board, where you can post an idea or a bug report and vote on other people’s posts. That board is the only place in Kalta where your words reach people outside your own wallets. Anyone who uses the app can read it.
Do not post anything hateful, harassing, threatening, obscene, discriminatory or illegal. Do not post other people’s private information, spam, or advertising. Posts show the name “Kalta user”.
- Every post has Report and Hide. A report says why: spam, abusive, or something else.
- You can block an author, and their posts disappear for you.
- We read the reports. We may hide or remove a post that breaks these rules.
- You can also write to hello@luxxatlabs.dev about a post.
6. Your content and your data
What you write stays yours. You give us the permission we need to store it and to show it to the people you chose: the members of your shared wallets and, for a board post, other users of the app. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.
Your data is yours. Export is free, and it always will be.
7. Fair use
Do not guess invite codes, flood our servers, or try to take the app apart or work around its limits. We count requests, and we block the ones that look like abuse.
8. Who can use Kalta
You must be 16 or older to use Kalta. It is not made for children.
9. The app is provided as it is
We cannot promise that Kalta will always be available, always in sync, or free of mistakes. Sync needs a working network. The app is provided “as is”, without warranties beyond the ones the law gives you and that cannot be excluded.
10. Limit of our liability
Kalta is a record of numbers that people type in. To the fullest extent the law allows, Luxxat Labs, IP is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for a decision you make because of a number in the app. Our total liability for any claim connected with Kalta is limited to the amount you actually paid us for it, and is nothing if you never bought Sync + Plan. Nothing here removes a liability that the law says cannot be removed.
11. Changes, and stopping
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and using the app after that means you accept the new version. You can stop at any time. Export your data first. If you want your data removed from our servers, see “Deleting your data” in the Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
